The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle (Saale), Ger- many, invites applications for a
Doctoral researcher position on the policy-growth nexus
for a period of 36 months (optional extension conditional upon funding). The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will work on the development of agricultural policies in post-Soviet countries and their contribution to agricultural development. There will be an opportunity to develop a doctoral thesis under the supervision of Prof Dr Thomas Herzfeld.
We expect:
- 1. MSc. degree or equivalent in agricultural economics or applied economics;
- 2. Interest in macro-econometric analysis;
- 3. Proven experience in planning, designing and implementing data analysis;
- 4. Individual commitment to research;
- 5. Fluency in English reading, writing and presentation;
- 6. Command of Russian or any other language of post-Soviet countries will be an asset;
- 7. Communicability, openness and integration into teamwork;
We offer:

- 6. Support the preparation of publications for topical peer-reviewed journals.
The successful candidate will become a member of the IAMO Graduate School and apply for a doctoral degree from Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg. During the analysis and writing-up period of the dissertation, the doctoral student will be based at IAMO in Halle (Saale). The position is fully fi- nanced according to the German TV-L payment scheme scale E13 (65%) and is foreseen for 36 months.
