Museum für Naturkunde - Leibniz Institute for Research on Evolution and Biodiversity (MfN), Berlin
The Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN) is an excellent and integrated research museum of the Leibniz Association with an international reputation and globally networked research infrastructure. It is active in three closely interlinked fields: collection-based research, collection development and cataloguing, and research-based public and educational work. Over the next ten years, the Museum für Naturkunde will realise its plan for the future. New laboratories and jobs for cutting-edge research will be created. At the same time, one of the world's most comprehensive natural history collections with over 30 million objects will be housed in modern collection buildings and completely digitized in the process. The implementation of the Future Plan, funded with a total of 660 million euros from the Federal Government and the State of Berlin, will only succeed with strong interdisciplinary national and international partners.

Project Description:
TheMuseumsLab, a project for collaborative learning and knowledge exchange between African and European museum professionals, was launched in May 2021. Since then, the project has brought together diverse perspectives, skills, and expertise to create a space for open dialogue on how museums can confront their colonial histories, address contemporary social and global challenges, and work together toward shaping a more equitable future. The main goal is to build connections that link individuals, institutions, and nations across two continents, fostering engaged discussions on how museums can actively respond to their colonial pasts, meet current societal and global challenges, and collaboratively build a more equitable future.
Responsibilities:
- Calculation of project budgets for national and international funding agencies
- Planning, organizing, and implementing project accounting
- Compiling documents for external audits and other requirements
- Preparation, support, and follow-up of work/service contracts
- Preparation of meetings
- Administrative and organizational tasks in project management
Requirements:
- Completed studies in public administration, business administration, or a commercial education with relevant professional experience in project management or a similar field.
- Extensive experience with procurement procedures and administrative processes in the public sector.
- In-depth knowledge of service contracts, fee agreements, commissioning, procurement processes, and the allocation of funds.
- Strong understanding of national and international grant law, both from public and private donors.
- Basic knowledge of tax law, particularly VAT in the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent proficiency in German and English.
- Professional experience in managing third-party funds.
- Motivated, diligent, and independent approach to work
