Intro
The Partnership Officer (Peace and Development) role at UNHCR focuses on strengthening strategic partnerships with development actors, peace actors, and relevant organizations to address root causes of displacement and statelessness. The officer will support UNHCR in engaging with peace and development actors, promoting UNHCR's objectives, and ensuring forced displacement considerations are integrated into policies and programs. The role involves collaborating with regional bureaux and operations to address displacement drivers and triggers through programmatic activities like the Regional Youth Peacebuilding Programme and the Aspiring for Peace and Inclusion Research for South Sudanese youth.
Tasks
- Facilitate engagement and cooperation with peace and development actors
- Support in ensuring forcibly displaced and stateless people are considered in UN peace and development policies
- Identify opportunities for developing effective partnerships and managing them
- Promote UNHCR's objectives and strategies with partners
- Support in meeting objectives related to UN peace and development as per the Office's Strategic Directions
- Support the implementation of the UNDP-UNHCR Global Collaboration Framework for Inclusion and Solutions
Requirements
- Experience in peacebuilding, conflict analysis, and conflict sensitivity
- Knowledge of UN peace and development policies and frameworks
- Strong communication and partnership management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Understanding of forced displacement and statelessness issues
