    Intro

    The Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Advisor will design and implement innovative monitoring and evaluation plans, support project teams, and contribute to the organization’s adaptive MEL approach.

    Tasks

    • Design innovative plans for monitoring and evaluation for projects and support the design of new interventions.
    • Identify key indicators and participatory data collection methods that align with organizational objectives and donor requirements and ensure the collection of reliable data throughout project / program lifecycles.
    • Support project teams in learning cycles, peer exchange, and the adaptation of project and program design based on evidence and data collected.
    • Further develop the organization’s adaptive MEL approach and support internal trainings and capacity building initiatives focused on mainstreaming MEL within the organization.
    • Document outcomes and insights, contribute to collecting and disseminating lessons learned.
    • Contribute to the production of learning materials and publications.
    • Support the communications and strategic partnerships teams in communicating Berghof’s impact to different audiences.

    Requirements

    • Master degree in a relevant field, such as peace and conflict studies, international relations, or political science
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation; knowledge of learning-focused, adaptive and/or participatory evaluation methodologies specifically for peacebuilding projects is welcomed
    • Fluency in English is essential, additional language skills such as German or Arabic would be an asset
    • Ability to work independently and across various teams within the organization, while contributing to a team of MEL advisors
    • Willingness to travel to conflict areas
    • Ability to work under time pressure
    • Curiosity, passion, empathy, flexibility and perseverance
