Intro
The Head of Accounting position is responsible for overseeing all financial accounting activities, including financial statement preparation, liquidity management, and bank relations. The role involves leading a team, collaborating with various departments, and managing accounting processes in international subsidiaries. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in finance, accounting, and taxation, along with strong leadership skills and proficiency in HGB and IFRS. Fluency in German and English is required, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. Tasks
- Overall responsibility for financial accounting
- Responsible for liquidity management and bank relations
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to IFRS and HGB
- Contact person for auditors, tax consultants, financial authorities and banks
- Management and development of team members
- Oversight of accounting activities in international subsidiaries
- Continuous improvement of processes, systems, and tools
- Intensive cooperation with Finance Director, Project Controlling, Management, Procurement, and international subsidiaries
- Project management for system implementations
- Collaboration in international projects
Requirements
- Trained Accountant and Certified GL Accountant or a comparable University degree
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the areas of finance, accounting, auditing, and taxation
- At least 3 years of management experience
- Proficiency in accounting according to HGB, IFRS, and relevant tax law
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- Good knowledge of MS Office and common ERP systems
- Structured, reliable, and goal-oriented way of working
- Experience and effectiveness in working, reporting, and communicating in an international and multicultural environment
- Enjoy working in a team
- Experience in consulting, service, and project business is an advantage
