Intro
SNV is seeking a Lead for their Artificial Intelligence Programme in Europe, offering the opportunity to conduct high-quality research, drive impactful change, and engage with decision-makers in the field of AI governance. The role involves developing research topics, shaping strategy, and collaborating with stakeholders to build effective governance for AI technology. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to pioneer groundbreaking research and translate it into actionable policies, contributing to the evolving landscape of AI governance in Europe.
Tasks
- Develop and execute a strategy on the subject of AI governance
- Provide independent expertise on AI governance questions to policymakers and other stakeholders
- Research, write and publish policy papers
- Engage in AI governance discussions with other institutions, the public and policymakers
- Expand and maintain a diverse international network of AI experts and stakeholders
- Fundraise in close collaboration with the management of SNV and hire potentially new team members
- Design and conduct expert workshops and roundtables
- Help advice and/or collaborate with a team of researchers at SNV who will be working on other AI subjects
Requirements
- Technical understanding and working experience in the field of AI research or an AI-relevant industry
- Entrepreneurial approach and interest in developing SNV’s AI programme and its long-term strategy
- Knowledge of current debates in AI policy, both in Europe and internationally
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues to a broad audience
- Fluency in English at a C1 level
- Ability to work in a team and enjoy developing and testing ideas with others
- Any level of academic qualification/credentials demonstrating strong knowledge in a subject related to AI Governance
