    Junior Coordinator*in "Foundations4Ukraine"

    Job offer: Junior Coordinator “Foundations4Ukraine”

    Who we are

As a Do & Think Tank for impact networks, iac Berlin works with foundations, academia, public institutions, and locally rooted non-profit organizations to build networks and alliances with social impact and to initiate new forms of collaboration and engagement. Together with our partners, we co-create innovative ways to empower people and their ideas to make their impact more effective and sustainable over time. We contribute to a growing community of network builders and share our knowledge in an open-source way.

One example of this work is Foundations For Ukraine (F4U), for which iac Berlin has recently taken over the role of an incubation partner. It is a collaborative network of leading philanthropic organizations dedicated to amplifying support for Ukraine’s civil society. F4U connects philanthropic actors globally to align efforts and coordinate towards more impactful actions. By working together, members help address Ukraine’s immediate needs and lay a foundation for its sustainable recovery.

    Who we are looking for

We are looking for a new colleague to join us as a Junior Coordinator (m/f/d) for Foundations For Ukraine within the Networks in Philanthropy team until the end of 2026, part-time (up to 80%).

    About your role

The focus of this role is to support the Senior Coordinator in the process of building the Foundations For Ukraine network, particularly with administrative and operational tasks. However, we also see this role as a steppingstone into the field of philanthropy and social change. Therefore, you should not only have first experience in the administration of projects as well as an understanding of the developments and recovery processes in Ukraine, but also a strong interest in developing a profile that will support your growth into a senior role - be it within iac Berlin or with another purpose-driven organization.

    Your tasks will include:

    • Support the Foundations for Ukraine senior coordinator with taking over administrative and operational tasks related to events, research, network building and process facilitation and, by that, familiarize yourself with the essentials of our work. Examples of these tasks include event logistics, financial monitoring, communications, contributions to research and publications etc.

    • Step-by-step deepen your understanding of different approaches to building networks and alliances as well as debates and good practices around relational and collaborative approaches to social change.

    • Stay curious and always look out for challenging personal and professional development opportunities; Define learning goals together with the team and follow them.

    Your profile

    • You have a strong interest in social change work and the field of philanthropy based on, for example, first work experience (including internships), your studies or voluntary work.
    • You strongly identify with the goals of Foundations For Ukraine and have a good understanding of the context in Ukraine and its civil society landscape.
    • You have some experience with organizing events (for example: communication with participants, logistics, financial management, hosting etc.).
    • You have a feel for what building and curating networks and alliances entails, for example through having an active role in a network that you are part of.
    • You have a structured and proactive way of working.
    • Rather than becoming overwhelmed, you approach complex issues with curiosity.
    • You have strong oral and written communication skills to support both the internal as well as external communication of the network.
    • You are fully proficient in English and Ukranian (C2). Additional languages, especially German, are a plus.

While remote working is commonplace for us, we also feel that in-person communication is vital to what we do. Therefore, we would prefer a candidate who is already based in Berlin or is willing to move there.

    **What we bring in **

    • Ample room for your personal and professional development

    • A team that is purpose-driven and aware of the need to take care of itself

    • A global as well as local network of partners, providing abundant opportunities for networking and collaboration

    • A warm and welcoming office atmosphere in central Berlin

    • Flexible working hours and the option to work from home

    • Mobility support (Deutschlandticket or Job-Bike)

    • A starting salary in line with the German wage agreement for public service (TV-L 9, which means 36.000 Euro gross p. a. for an 80% position)

We are committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and equitable professional environment. This is and will always be an ongoing process requiring a diversity of perspectives and experiences. We welcome applications from all gender identities, ages, and sexual orientations, as well as all professional, educational, and cultural backgrounds, including people with disabilities, parents, and caregivers who are returning to work.

    How to apply

If you would like to apply, we kindly ask you to provide the following information:

    • A written document (one page) or a voice recording of max. 3 minutes (no videos please) or a graphic / drawing (one page) that expresses your motivation to take up the role

    • A CV (max. two pages)

    • Your earliest possible starting date

Please don’t be discouraged if you do not have significant experience in all the areas mentioned above – we work with flexible teams and can adapt to different team setups depending on the candidate. Most importantly, summarize your fields of experience and identify areas where you see potential for professional growth.

We kindly ask you to send all information in English in one PDF file by January 8, 2025 to ch*******.******er@ia*-******in.org. A link or a file of a voice recording may, of course, be provided separately. We have planned two rounds of interviews within the second half of January.
