Intro
The Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB) is seeking a Scientific Employee for the Bioinformatics in Medicine research group to work on the BMWK-funded consortium 'Data- and AI-supported early warning system' (DAKI-FWS). The project aims to develop an early warning system using artificial intelligence to strengthen economic resilience in Germany by integrating key data sources to mitigate hazards like epidemics, floods, windstorms, and heat waves. The role involves collaboration with project partners, developing industrial-grade solutions, and applying deep learning techniques to molecular data.
Tasks
- Collaboration with project partners on data-driven research with a focus on molecular data
- Develop industrial-grade solutions and products using coding skills
- Report and present development work effectively
- Contribute to the development of an early warning system based on data sources and AI
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cellular and molecular biology, or related field
- Familiarity with preprocessing and preparation of multimodal data
- Expertise in deep learning topics, including unsupervised learning and generative models
- Knowledge of distributed systems and High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Strong communication skills in English
- Team player with a focus on research and practical application
