    Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW)

    The Kiel Institute for the World Economy is looking for an

    intern (m/f/d)

    full-time (38.7 h/week) for 3 months

    for a research project on “Housing Affordability” at the earliest possible date.

    The intern will be involved in a new and highly policy-relevant project on the German housing market. Task involve data gathering and synchronization, theory building, and empirical testing, and can be adjusted to the candidates interests and abilities.

    What we offer:

    • Attendance of Kiel Institute seminars and participation, upon agreement, in courses offered by the Kiel Institute’s Advanced Studies Program (ASP)
    • A remuneration of 1,000 Euro/month.
    • Spend your winter in Berlin & work at the Kiel-CEPR Research Hub (https://www.ifw-kiel.de/institute/about-the-kiel-institute/organization/kiel-institute-in-berlin/)

    We are looking for a student who

    • holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics
    • is interested in housing markets and their relation with a wider economy
    • is motivated and proactive when it comes to the advancement of the project, works independently and can perform tasks responsibly and reliably
    • has very good English language skills. German language skills are not required but very beneficial
    • has worked with data before and is in good command of statistical software (preferably STATA, though R or Python are also acceptable)
