    Tasks

    • Process in-house desktop flood studies to identify and quantify potential flood risks for solar PV projects.
    • Analyse, evaluate and propose flood mitigation solutions based on regulatory information and best practices, collaborating with civil and PV engineering teams for seamless integration into the project plan.
    • Design and implement drainage systems using expertise in run-off analysis, ensuring optimal water management throughout all project design phases from conceptual to detailed design.
    • Develop and evaluate flood mitigation measures, considering existing infrastructure and potential impacts on PV plant design and budget.
    • Coordinate and manage external service companies for detailed flood studies, acting as a single point of contact and ensuring deliverables meet project requirements.
    • Prepare and review Scopes of Work (SOWs) for external flood study providers, guaranteeing clear communication and project alignment.
    • Actively participate in research and development initiatives to explore new technologies and methodologies for optimizing flood risk management strategies.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of new processes and workflows to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.

    Requirements

    • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Water Engineering, or a similar field.
    • Possess relevant professional experience in flood risk management and/or water resources engineering (minimum 5 years preferred).
    • Be proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Possess a strong understanding of hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS) - knowledge of additional water-related software is a plus.
    • Have a comprehensive knowledge base of hydrological, hydraulic, and environmental processes, including their interrelationships in pre- and post-construction environments.
    • Be familiar with current theories and practices in flood management, including sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and stormwater management practices specific to solar farms.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in the field.
    • A proven ability to prepare detailed reports, specifications, and integrate data for comprehensive technical reports.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office 365.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing collaboration effectively with engineers, managers, clients, and vendors.
    • A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to finding optimal, risk-considered design solutions with a positive attitude, and enthusiasm to learn.
    • Pro-active team player with a high degree of self-management and problem-solving ability and the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Languages: English (native speaker or excellent command), German is a plus.
