We are looking for an experienced colleague, supporting the development team in creating next generation charging infrastructure for the global market. You’ll be working in a fast-growing organization which is part of the Volkswagen Group with amazing individuals who are eager to learn but are also excited to share their knowledge.
Your mission
The Hardware Engineering unit is also responsible for the development of charging functions, encompassing a wide range of activities including:
- Technical project leadership.
- Function development and optimization.
- Modeling and simulation.
- Electrical and mechanical development.
- System engineering.
- Monitoring and adherence to norms and standards.
This position requires a strategic leader who can guide a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative and reliable hardware solutions for the future of charging infrastructure.
In this role:
- You drive innovation and ensure reliable hardware solutions for charging infrastructure, implementing an efficient cross-product hardware strategy based on a platform approach to maximize synergies across products.
- You manage the budget for the Hardware Engineering unit, ensuring financial efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
- You lead and coordinate your team through disciplinary and technical oversight, organizing tasks and fostering collaboration.
- You serve as the primary point of contact for all staff-related technical and content questions, including coaching and professional development.
- You oversee the planning, management, and operations of the Hardware Engineering unit, including resource allocation, scheduling, and leave approvals.
- You ensure compliance with legal, collective bargaining agreements, company regulations, processes, and service management standards.
- You build strong relationships with stakeholders, maintaining transparency and managing communications with process-related interfaces effectively.
- You report directly to the Vice President of Charging and Energy Technology, providing regular updates and insights.
Your profile
- You have a university degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a comparable qualification
- You possess extensive knowledge in charging infrastructure and hardware development.
- You have more than 5 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- You bring substantial experience in executing development projects successfully.
- You excel in leading and coaching employees, with a strong focus on their development and growth.
- You demonstrate excellent analytical abilities, a high sense of responsibility, and a self-reliant working style.
- You have in-depth expertise in both the technical and disciplinary management of employees.
- You are highly customer-oriented, equipped with excellent communication skills, empathy, and a proactive approach.
- Ideally, you bring solid experience with tools like Jira, CATIA, Simulink, and LabView.
The position is assigned to grade L according to the Elli function grading.
