    Tasks

    • Execution of standardized Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) on SIS100 and Super FRS superconducting components according to predefined test procedures.
    • Analysis of the measurement results and verification of the physical plausibility and compliance with the specified parameters.
    • Documentation of the measurement results and responsible release of test sections as well as coordination with the test stand manager.
    • Preparation and execution of advanced tests in case of nonconformities on superconducting components.
    • Error diagnosis and development of proposals for solution in the field of measurement technology.
    • Maintenance of the measuring equipment as well as active participation in the optimization and further development of the measurement equipment.
    • Assembling of test setups in close cooperation with the specialist groups involved.
    • Carrying out acceptance tests on assemblies for the magnetic protection electronics.
    • Intensive participation in the installation and commissioning of the superconducting components in the FAIR accelerator facilities.
    • Preparation of procurement for new hardware according to the needs of test stand.

    Requirements

    • Degree (M.Sc. or diploma) in applied or engineering physics or engineering science, specializing in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification.
    • Profound knowledge and professional experience in at least one of the following areas: electrical measurement technology, electromagnets, measurement data acquisition and data analysis, low-temperature physics (cryogenics).
    • Know how in dealing with measuring systems for determining electrical parameters.
    • Profound knowledge with data acquisition systems and analysis methods.
    • Skills of MS Windows and Linux operating systems as well as MS Office applications.
    • Independent, structured way of working with a high level of proactivity and responsibility as well as good team skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Fluent in written and spoken English, ideally good knowledge of German.
