The Director Commercial and Operations Support is responsible for managing and orchestration of DB Schenker’s Contract Logistics business for one of our GCM customers with focus on region EMEA with currently five sites.
Responsibilities include
- Commercial management covering new business opportunities and project renewals,
- Initiatives focused on operational improvements and optimization,
- Contribution to global programs in regards to EMEA’s site specific scope and driving them locally
while working day-to-day with the local operations and with Cluster Management as well as Global Customer Management in line with corporate strategic goals.
You will help to develop a winning CL culture by
- building strong relationships with the customer’s contacts/stakeholders on various levels, striving for a
- clear win-win mentality in the partnership
- building strong relationships and cooperation structures with CL PM’s of clusters, Management Teams
- in countries responsible for the customer’s Operations, HO, RHO and specialist Teams.
- inspiring the team by communicating in a clear and transparent way, setting challenging though
- realistic targets for your team, and leading by example.
Our expectations
- At minimum Bachelor level in Logistics, and 10+ years’ experience in Operational and Commercial leadership roles in the CL/SCM industry.
- A deep understanding of the international CL/SCM market, its requirements, developments and dynamics, with focus on the High-Tech Consumer Products market.
- -Target oriented person, capable of building and motivating a team in a multi-cultural environment to overachieve on targets and expectations.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout Europe, and occasionally inter-Continental.
- Ability to set and manage your own agenda, prioritize under pressure and work proactively and autonomously.
- Strong English (written and verbal), moderation and presentation skills are essential.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the internal and customer organisation, and be able to manage effectively in a matrix environment, also influencing. Individuals outside of direct management control
- Demonstrable, excellent (contract) negotiation skills in 3PL Environment.
- Ability to direct and coordinate tasks to ensure they meet critical Deadlines.
- Ability to understand project sequences and consequences of non-conformed tasks, whereby previous management of complex projects across different countries is a plus.
