The HZI is seeking to appoint a Coordinator International Relations as soon as possible.
HZI is Germany’s largest academic institution dedicated to infection research. As a member of the Helmholtz Association, we conduct infection research oriented towards long-term goals. Scientists from more than 50 nations work together to study pathogens and their interaction with the human immune system, aiming to develop innovative methods and strategies to prevent, diagnose and treat infectious diseases.
Within the newly established Human Microbe Alliance for Universal Health (HUMAN) program, we are seeking a highly motivated Coordinator for International Relations to shape strategic international outreach activities, including the coordination of HZI’s alumni network, in close collaboration with HZI’s scientific strategy staff unit.
Tasks
- Develop and implement an international recruitment strategy to attract talented students and researchers to the institute's programs
- Organize scientific symposia, conferences and workshops with international partners
- Develop and implement measures to strengthen the brand HZI internationally
- Manage fellowship programs for international students and researchers
- Participate in international career fairs and conferences to showcase the institute's research opportunities and training programs
- Manage and maintain HZI’s international alumni network
Prerequisites
- Completed university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in the field of life sciences or comparable
- The successful completion of a PhD is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
- Knowledge of research in life science areas
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (oral and written)
- Ability to work both independently and in an interdisciplinary team
- Outstanding organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
- Strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on attitude as well as creativity and curiosity
- Experience with (international) personnel selection is an advantage

39 hours per week
