Vay is seeking an Automotive Quality & Production Engineer to ensure the products and services consistently meet customer expectations, contributing to the transition of tele-driving system prototypes into scalable production configurations.
Tasks
- Ownership of product and process quality topics
- Design and reporting quality KPIs during new products introduction, manufacturing & fleet service
- Real-time point of contact for technicians on fleet issues
- Root cause analysis of complex issues from parts incoming inspections, fleet bring-up and service, and fleet commercial operations
- Develop systems, methodologies, processes and best practices to guarantee high-quality products
- Ensure appropriate Quality Check Points (QCPs) are defined, executed and documented
- Improve supplier’s quality capability and performance
- Implement lessons learned to new project requirements
- Bring up documentation and readiness including guidelines and checklists
- Definition of vehicle assembly/production flow
- Process audits and dynamic checklists for bring up and maintenance
- Definition of technical documentation and processes for fleet service requests
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the automotive sector in a quality or production engineering role
- (Preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, or a related field
- (Preferred) ISO/TS 16949 and/or IATF 16949 qualification
- Analytical reporting
- Product quality and root cause analysis methods
- Product and process auditing
- Automotive quality standards (e.G. ISO/TS 16949; IATF 16949)
- Process improvement (Lean Manufacturing; Six Sigma; Statistical Process Control)
- Production planning tools, manufacturing processes and quality control techniques
- FMEAs, control plans and work instructions
- Manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, painting and general assembly (nice to have)
- Familiarity with ERP systems (nice to have)
- (preferred) AV experience
- Proactive and highly driven in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Analytical thinking
