    We seek to fill the following position as soon as possible:

    Associate Alumni Affairs (gn)

    full-time (40 hours/week). The contract is initially limited to two years; a permanent contract after that period is possible.
    Your work will support our goal to build a vibrant, global community by fostering meaningful, lifelong relationships with over 3,000 Hertie School alumni in 120 countries around the world.

    Your tasks:

    Communications & events

    • Acting as first point of contact for our Alumni, including communication through email, digital communities, and other channels.
    • Design and further development of our annual communications and events plan in cooperation with Alumni Affairs Director
    • Assist the planning and delivery of the annual alumni reunion, local chapter and Interest Area events

    Volunteer engagement

    • Build and maintain close working relationship with alumni volunteers, especially local chapter leads and connectors.
    • Serve as first point of contact for local chapter leads and contacts.
    • Support the planning, promotion and implementation on activities in 21 local chapters and groups globally.
    •  Organise quarterly meetings with volunteers, including annual on-site meeting in Berlin.

    Operations and organisation

    • Administrative support to the Alumni Affairs Director, including financial management
    • Devise and maintain systems and processes that facilitate efficient planning and timely delivery of activities
    •  Build credibility and good working relationships with colleagues across Hertie School

    Your profile:

    Core requirements

    • University degree in social sciences or humanities
    • 2-3 years of professional experience in an international environment, preferably in the (Higher) Education sector
    • Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Experience in event and project management
    • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Analytical mindset and ability to interpret data
    • Basic knowledge of financial management and budget administration
    • Full working proficiency of English and German (English C1 or above; German B2 or above)
    • Confident and self-motivated personality, with the ability to relate to people from different cultural and professional backgrounds
    • Resilient, able to work calmly under pressure in a target-driven environment

    Desirable qualifications

    • Knowledge in managing networks and/or volunteers
    • Knowledge of additional major language is a plus
