Intro
The Americas & Amazonia Bioeconomy Investment Lead at CI Ventures is a two-year fellowship position based in Peru, Colombia, or Brazil (remote). The role involves developing investment opportunities in the Amazonia Bioeconomy, leading CI Ventures investment activities, and establishing a Conservation Finance strategy for Bioeconomy in the Americas. The position requires expertise in finance, conservation finance, international development, and business development, with a focus on the Amazonia region. Fluency in English and Spanish is essential, and Portuguese is desirable. The role involves supervisory responsibilities and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive conservation finance initiatives in the region.
Tasks
- Develop investment opportunities in the Amazonia Bioeconomy
- Lead CI Ventures investment activities in the Americas Field Division
- Establish a Conservation Finance strategy for Bioeconomy in the Americas
- Collaborate with AFD countries and market networks to mobilize financing for Amazonia Bioeconomy
- Manage CI Ventures America’s program
- Design and fundraise for an Amazonia Bioeconomy investment window for CI Ventures
- Contribute to the design of innovative conservation finance mechanisms for the Amazon Bioeconomy
- Manage projects in collaboration with the private sector to increase investment in nature
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree plus 10+ years’ experience in finance, conservation finance, international development, or related field
- 5 or more years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Amazon bioeconomies and experience working in the Amazonia region
- Strong financial skills with ability to negotiate various product offerings
- Business development and client management track record
- Experience in diverse geographies
- Fluency in English and Spanish, Portuguese is desirable
- Understanding of pools of capital in the region
