acatech – the National Academy of Science and Engineering – provides policymakers and society with independent, evidence-based advice for the public good. Its work spans a wide range of topics, including digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and mobility.
We are a dynamic, interdisciplinary team of over 200 professionals working from Munich, Berlin, and Brussels.
Your Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for a (Senior) Strategic Project Manager (M/F/D) at one of our office locations in Germany to help coordinate and implement a 3-year EU-funded project supporting the establishment of the European data space for mobility. Your primary focus will be on strategic direction, project alignment, harmonisation, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing activities with local pilot representatives to promote peer-learning and harmonisation of technical standards.
- Overseeing qualitative and quantitative assessments to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Contributing to project deliverables and guiding various project activities such as technical infrastructure and tool development.
- Leading and moderating strategic project meetings and events using innovative collaboration tools.
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including regular communication with the European Commission.
- Conducting project-related analysis and representing the project at external events throughout Europe.
Your Qualifications
- Degree (Master’s or comparable) or PhD in political science, urban planning, computer science, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in project management or management consultancy, ideally for the public sector.
- Knowledge of EU funding programmes and experience with managing EU projects is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Fluency in English (C2) and German (C2).

The position is full-time (39h/week) based in Munich or Berlin, initially limited until the end of October 2026 with the possibility of renewal.
