Intro
The Senior Durable Solutions Assistant at UNOPS in Montevideo will be responsible for supporting stakeholders in finding opportunities for inclusion and local integration for refugees and other persons of concern. They will assist in engaging with government-led development planning, maintaining effective working relations with relevant entities, and institutionalizing long-term development-oriented approaches for refugees. The role also involves preparing and disseminating information, mapping key integration issues, facilitating strategic partnerships, and providing guidance to various stakeholders for the improvement of integration services.
Tasks
- Support stakeholders in finding opportunities for inclusion and local integration for refugees and other persons of concern
- Assist in engaging in relevant government-led development planning and coordination processes
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with relevant public and governmental entities and officials
- Institutionalize long-term development-oriented approaches for refugees and refugee-hosting areas
- Prepare relevant information (correspondence and reports) to external and internal stakeholders regularly
- Facilitate strategic development partnerships and multi-stakeholder coordination for development and self-reliance oriented interventions
- Map key gaps/issues in integration and support required interventions
- Provide guidance and advice to government authorities, NGOs, refugee community groups, and local municipalities on integration services
- Facilitate capacity building, training activities, and provision of support
- Facilitate the establishment and operation of programs for refugees
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Experience in working with refugees, asylum seekers, or vulnerable populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with various stakeholders
- Knowledge of development and humanitarian principles
- Fluency in relevant languages
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
