Intro
The Policy Advisor on Energy position at IISD's Energy Program in India involves supporting clean and just energy transitions, conducting quantitative analysis on energy policies, collaborating with stakeholders, and contributing to policy research reports. Tasks
- Analyze large government data sets related to energy subsidies for fossil fuels and clean energy
- Support energy modelling exercises through the Green Economy Model
- Undertake research on and engage with major state-owned enterprises in accelerating the energy transition
- Represent IISD and build networks among the policy community in India through engagement and outreach
- Establish and strengthen relationships with government officials, public enterprises, and legislative bodies
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on energy policies and write reports, articles, and policy briefs
- Contribute to strategy planning and design of engagement activities
- Track developments in India's energy policies
Requirements
- Master's degree in energy, economics, social science, politics, or environment
- At least 5 years of professional experience in energy policy research
- Experience with quantitative research methods and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with energy modelling and government energy departments
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent English skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
