Intro
The Associate Livelihood Officer position in New Delhi, India with UNHCR focuses on facilitating the economic inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers in India. The role involves working with partners to advocate for the rights and access to work for refugees, conducting assessments to enhance economic inclusion, and managing livelihood interventions and cash-based interventions programs. The incumbent will also coordinate with various stakeholders to strengthen refugee self-reliance and promote economic inclusion in line with the Global Compact on Refugees and the Sustainable Development Goals. The ideal candidate should have experience in livelihoods and economic inclusion, cash-based programming, and strong communication skills.
Tasks
- Maintain close contact and cooperation with partners to facilitate the economic inclusion of refugees
- Assess the legal framework for the right to work and rights at work and recommend/implement advocacy initiatives and policy reforms
- Support regular information sharing and coordination among different stakeholders
- Conduct necessary assessments in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
- Strengthen, guide, and monitor livelihood interventions
- Coordinate and provide oversight to the cash-based interventions program
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in livelihoods and economic inclusion of marginalized groups
- Experience in developing and managing cash-based programming
- Proactive and persuasive in mobilizing public institutions and partners
- Excellent written and oral English language communication skills
- Strong team player with cultural sensitivity
