Intro
Morningstar is seeking a self-motivated individual to join their Equity Operations team as a Senior Data Quality Assurance Engineer. The role involves developing and implementing data quality projects to enhance the quality of Morningstar databases. The ideal candidate will work closely with Technology & Quants, Clients, and Methodologies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and process improvement. Key responsibilities include ideating and building data science-driven quality checks, collaborating with global teams, and contributing to continuous process improvement. The position requires a professional or master's degree in mathematics/Statistics/Finance with 4+ years of experience, proficiency in SQL, Python, and Apache Spark, and expertise in data modeling, machine learning, and agile delivery environments.
Tasks
- Develop and implement data quality projects to maintain and improve database quality
- Work closely with Technology & Quants, Clients, and Methodologies to reflect Accuracy and Consistency in quality
- Ideate and build next-generation data science-driven proactive quality checks
- Collaborate with global and local teams across various functions
- Participate in global calls and meetings for project alignment and improvement
Requirements
- Professional or master’s degree in mathematics/Statistics/Finance with 4+ years of experience
- Skills/experience in SQL, Python, Apache Spark, etc.
- Understanding of Data modeling and Schema Design principles
- Experience in building Machine learning Models including Supervised, Unsupervised
- Ability to work in an Agile delivery environment
- Strong project management skills in initiating large data quality projects
