Intro
The Application Development Engineer (ADE) - Backend at Arista Networks is responsible for creating software to address customer needs, internal use, and proof of concept projects. The role involves working on open source development projects, providing technical support, and maintaining expertise in software development. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, 4-5 years of experience, and proficiency in backend coding languages like Python and Golang. Experience with Agile frameworks, CI platforms, and release engineering skills is required. Nice-to-have skills include working experience in Docker, K8s deployments, AWS/GCP, and network technologies.
Tasks
- Create software to address specific customer needs
- Create software for internal use
- Rapidly create proof of concept projects
- Work on open source development projects
- Provide technical support for products developed by the TAC Tools
- Continued training to maintain expertise
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Integrate software components and third-party programs
- Verify and deploy programs and systems
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade the existing systems
- Recommend and execute improvements
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related experience
- 4 to 5 years of experience
- Attention to detail
- Background in Linux, Unix, C/C++, Python, and Golang
- Understanding of complete backend workflow for web apps
- Experience building third party software integration and APIs
- Release engineering skills (pip, rpm, deb, rvm)
- Experience with CI platforms (Jenkins)
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodology
- Creative thinker and team player
