Tasks
- Manage retail supply management activities in ERCOT power market
- Conduct risk management and retail contract pricing to drive gross margins
- Identify and manage price and volume risk exposures
- Monitor and optimize shaping risk of retail load portfolio
- Execute bilateral hedges and day-ahead demand bid schedules
- Formulate forward price curves for power cost components
- Provide insight to senior management on gross margin drivers
- Expand supplier relationships for market coverage and trading liquidity
- Develop procurement strategies using data-driven analysis
- Challenge processes and deliver improvement/automation
- Make proposals on generation, flexibility, or DSR initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ERCOT markets
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience in managing and reporting on financial risk
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to business growth
- Comfortable with ambiguity
