Intro
The Network Engineer position at Booz Allen focuses on F5 administration, support, and configuration within the Network Operations and Engineering team. The role involves implementing, troubleshooting, and monitoring network devices, designing and deploying functional networks, and ensuring network security measures. The position requires experience in network administration, knowledge of communication protocols and network operating systems, and the ability to mentor team members. A TS/SCI clearance and basic qualifications in network engineering are necessary.
Tasks
- Serve as a member of the Network Operations and Engineering team focusing on F5 administration, support, and configuration
- Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers
- Design and deploy functional networks, such as LAN, WLAN, and WAN
- Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
- Monitor network performance and integrity
- Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
- Mentor team members on technical issues
- Create, oversee and test security measures, including access authentication and disaster recovery
- Communicate with users when needed
- Maintain complete technical documentation
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
Requirements
- Experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator
- Experience in network administration and architecture
- Experience with access control models and network security
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools, such as SolarWinds network tools
- Knowledge of communication protocols, mainly TCP/IP and routing protocols, such as BGP or OSPF
- Knowledge of network operating systems, such as JUNOS or Cisco IOS
- Ability to mentor, troubleshoot, organize, and work independently
- TS/SCI clearance
- HS diploma or GED
