Intro
The Programme Officer Social Protection position at Christoffel-Blindenmission Christian Blind Mission e.V in Cameroon involves leading social protection initiatives, building capacities of teams and partners, advising on inclusive social protection schemes, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote disability-inclusive social protection. The role requires a graduate degree in social sciences or related field, 3-5 years of experience in NGOs or government, knowledge of social protection schemes in Cameroon, and proficiency in English and French. Tasks
- Lead focal point for social protection in country office programmes.
- Build capacities of country team and partners in social protection.
- Support and advise in building linkages between programmes and existing social protection schemes and systems.
- Advise and engage with stakeholders including government on making social protection schemes inclusive of persons with disabilities.
- Provide technical support to projects on disability inclusive social protection.
- Maintain strong collaborations and partnerships with a focus on social protection.
- Conduct organizational capacity assessments and partnership reviews on social protection.
- Gather and share quality project information to demonstrate impact of disability inclusive social protection.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in social sciences, international development, humanitarian studies, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in NGOs or other organizations with a focus on social protection.
- Experience in managing projects related to social protection.
- Knowledge of social protection schemes in relevant country.
- Experience in results-based management and project cycle management.
- Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Fluency in English and French, proficiency in MS Office.
