Intro
The RSD Intern position at UNHCR involves working within the RSD Unit under the supervision of the RSD Officer and Associate RSD Officer. The main responsibilities include translating documents, conducting legal research, drafting papers, and supporting various units within the organization. The candidate is required to have a university degree in law or related field, knowledge of refugee law and human rights, and proficiency in English and Thai languages. Previous experience in humanitarian work and translation is desirable for this role. The internship duration is 6 months with a tentative starting date as soon as possible.
Tasks
- Translate documents related to policies, guidance, and procedures from English into Thai and vice versa
- Conduct legal and country of origin information research in Thai and English
- Draft papers/reports in Thai and English
- Support RSD and Registration Units in carrying out functions
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- University degree in law, political science, or related field
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies
- Sound knowledge of refugee law, international human rights, and humanitarian laws
- Previous experience in humanitarian work and/or translation
- Excellent knowledge of English and Thai (reading and writing)
