Intro
The Corporate Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) at RAND Corporation is responsible for leading and managing the technical aspects of classified systems projects, ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations, and overseeing the Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs) and Officers (ISSOs). The role involves coordinating resources, developing project plans, implementing security controls, conducting risk management, and maintaining accreditation for classified information systems. The position requires expertise in network security, system architecture design, compliance with government regulations, and risk management frameworks. The ISSM also plays a key role in developing and enforcing corporate security policies and procedures to support classified systems.
Tasks
- Lead system architecture design planning
- Coordinate resources for classified systems projects
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Develop project scopes and objectives
- Perform risk management for projects
- Implement security controls for new and existing systems
- Develop corporate policies to support security standards
- Manage self-inspections and government inspections
- Establish protocols for security incident resolution
- Develop and implement security plans for facilities
Requirements
- Experience with network security processes and procedures
- Knowledge of federal government security regulations and policies
- Understanding of operating systems and audit log software
- Familiarity with encryption technologies and security analysis
- DoD 8570 IAM level 2 certification
- Completion of RMF training course from DCSA
- Ability to pass a background check
