Intro
The Logistics Coordinator position at Ärzte der Welt e. V. in Ukraine involves overseeing the logistics support provided to the organization's mission in compliance with defined strategies and donor regulations. The role includes managing fleet and premises, procurement, warehouse, IT, and asset/inventory management. The Coordinator will supervise logistics staff in multiple field offices, ensure procurement policies are followed, manage technical and logistical resources, and contribute to security planning. Fluency in English is required, with Ukrainian/Russian and/or German as strong assets. The position requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in logistics or related field, a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics coordination in a humanitarian setting, and experience in emergency response contexts. The role demands strong security management skills, team training/capacity building experience, and the ability to work in challenging conditions. The contract is for 12 months with a possibility of extension, based in Dnipro with field visits to other locations in Ukraine.
Tasks
- Provide leadership and oversight to all aspects of the logistics department
- Supervise logistics staff and oversee logistics structure development
- Ensure procurement policies and procedures are followed
- Manage technical and logistical resources for operations
- Develop security plans for locations based on security assessments
- Represent the organization at the local level
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in logistics or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience with 2 years in logistical coordination in a humanitarian setting
- Experience in emergency response context
- Strong experience in security management
- Ability to manage a team in an international setting
- Fluency in English; Ukrainian, Russian, or German are assets
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 environment
- Capacity to work in challenging conditions
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
