Intro
The Green Climate Fund is seeking international sectoral experts to support funding proposal assessments related to climate change mitigation and adaptation activities in developing countries. Experts will review specific aspects of funding proposals aligned with their core expertise. Minimum qualifications include experience in developing, reviewing, and evaluating climate projects, as well as expertise in various technical specialties related to climate finance. Applicants should demonstrate operational experience in the Fund's result areas and knowledge of project management cycles.
Tasks
- Review and evaluate climate change mitigation or adaptation project proposals
- Implement climate change projects in developing countries
- Conduct financial and economic analysis on project/programme level
- Perform risk analysis of projects/programmes
- Implement environmental and social safeguards and policies
- Design and implement results management frameworks for project evaluation
Requirements
- Minimum 13 years of relevant professional experience in an international environment
- Experience in developing, reviewing, and implementing climate projects in developing countries
- Expertise in at least two technical specialties related to climate change
- Knowledge of financial instruments including grants, loans, equity, and guarantee
- Experience in project evaluation and impact assessment
- Familiarity with UNFCCC policies and procedures
