Intro
The Development Associate, Events & Engagement role at the Vera Institute of Justice in Brooklyn, NY, plays a critical role in planning, producing, and executing strategic donor cultivation events, webinars, and the Vera Annual Dinner. The associate will work closely with various teams to design and execute donor engagement opportunities that support the organization's mission to end mass incarceration. Tasks
- Plan and execute strategic donor cultivation events
- Manage event budget and approvals
- Research and evaluate vendors/venues
- Lead event production calls with vendors
- Manage event invitation lists
- Lead event communications and outreach
- Manage event data and recordkeeping
- Create and disseminate event attendance reports
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of experience in event planning or fundraising
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prior administrative work experience in a development or non-profit context
- Ability to take initiative and work well under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM database management
