Intro
The IT Administrator position at the Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics (IAR) involves maintaining the system infrastructure of the research group, coordinating hardware procurement and installation, managing user accounts, and serving as the IT representative for interactions with the university's central IT administration. The role requires knowledge of Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems, with a preference for experience in managing Linux-based GPU clusters. Fluency in English is essential for communication with international colleagues. Tasks
- Maintain the system infrastructure of the research group, e.g., administrating our Linux computer cluster
- Coordinate the procurement and installation of new hardware
- Set up and maintain user accounts of our systems
- Act as the group’s IT representative when coordinating with central IT administration of the university
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or comparable training as an IT specialist for system administration
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems
- Previous experience in managing small-scale Linux-based GPU clusters is a plus
- Good knowledge of English
- Willingness to independently learn about new subjects as needed for the job
