Intro
The Procurement Officer position at ILO-Ankara is responsible for supporting the development cooperation project aimed at promoting decent work for Syrians under temporary protection and Turkish citizens. The officer will be involved in acquiring goods and services according to ILO rules and regulations to enhance project results. The role requires expertise in procurement, managing external suppliers, and working with vulnerable groups or refugees. Proficiency in English and Turkish is essential, along with competencies in integrity, communication, and collaboration. The position involves ensuring compliance with procurement procedures, maintaining inventory records, and contributing to procurement reports for informed decision-making.
Tasks
- Ensure compliance with procurement rules and regulations
- Conduct market research for potential service providers and vendors
- Prepare procurement plan and update it regularly
- Participate in procurement of services and supplies
- Manage inventory records and distribution procedures
- Collate data for procurement reports
- Support auditing of procurement activities
- Provide guidance on procurement issues to project team
Requirements
- First level university degree in relevant field
- Minimum of one year professional experience in procurement
- Experience in managing external suppliers
- Knowledge of UN and/or ILO procurement procedures
- Fluency in English and Turkish
