Sanktionsfrei is an organization that has been advocating for a dignified basic security since 2015. Their goal is to destigmatize the receipt of social benefits and to enable a fear-free and dignified basic security for all. Through their donation-financed solidarity pot, they compensate for sanctions and thus render the strongest pressure tool of the job centers ineffective. They also enable uncomplicated opposition to sanctions and conduct a long-term scientific study to evaluate the effects of their method. Sanktionsfrei also addresses other financial bottlenecks and conducts political campaigns to create social awareness for the topic. The organization has been fighting for unconditional basic security for about 3 years, aiming to destigmatize unemployment. They carry out a long-term scientific study in cooperation with the University of Wuppertal to evaluate their method. The team consists of founder Helena Steinhaus, Software Infrastructure Thomas Kuhnert, Design Campaigning Robert Müller, Strategy PR Claudia Cornelsen, scientific assistant Aseman Golshan Bahadori, and lawyer Kristina Sosa Noreña. Sanktionsfrei was founded in September 2015 and has since supported over 1000 people.
