Einführung
The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) invites applications for a Research Assistant position in the Research Group 'Laser Dynamics' starting from 01.10.2024.
Aufgaben
- Work on the theoretical aspects of the collaborative project 'Excellence in Photonic Crystal Surface Emitting Lasers'
- Develop efficient numerical tools for solving the dynamical PDE model and related spectral problem
- Conduct theoretical and numerical studies of photonic crystal surface-emitting semiconductor lasers (PCSELs)
Voraussetzungen
- Ph.D. degree in mathematics, scientific computing, or theoretical physics
- Good speaking and writing skills in English
- Experience in efficient numerical methods for PDEs
- Good programming skills in Julia and/or C++
- Knowledge of semiconductor device modeling and semiconductor physics (advantage)
