Einführung
The NCL Foundation is seeking a highly motivated Scientific Officer to evaluate research on juvenile Batten disease and support the foundation's research funding strategy.
Aufgaben
- Evaluate the current state of research on juvenile Batten disease (CLN3 disease)
- Identify new research approaches
- Support the foundation in defining its future research funding strategy
- Interact with research teams and patient groups worldwide
- Promote the expansion and strengthening of the scientific network between international research centers
- Facilitate rapid and efficient knowledge exchange between the NCL Foundation and other Batten foundations
- Accelerate the research process in the field of Batten disease and potential new therapeutic approaches
Voraussetzungen
- Degree in life sciences (e.g., M.D. or Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology)
- Experience in neurobiology, neurodegenerative diseases, drug development for rare diseases, or translational clinical research is desirable
- Ability to work independently and cooperate in teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Scientific creativity
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills
- Very good IT skills (including MS Office)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German
- Experience in building relationships with stakeholders and research partners, both in Germany and internationally
- Experience in managing scientific projects
- Ability to independently organize international travel
Benefits
- Salary based on experience and qualifications
- Full-time contract (40 hours per week)
- Possibility to transition into a regular full-time position after up to two years
