Einführung
The Technician position at GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH in Darmstadt involves maintaining and ensuring the operational readiness of magnet power supplies and high-voltage devices in existing accelerator systems, as well as installing and commissioning new magnet power supplies in the future FAIR accelerator facility. The tasks include maintenance, servicing, operation, planning, programming, commissioning, documentation, procurement, assembly, dismantling, on-call duty, and collaboration with international partners.
Aufgaben
- Maintenance and operation of magnet power supplies and high-voltage devices
- Installation and commissioning of new magnet power supplies
- Planning and execution of upgrade and shutdown measures
- Commissioning of magnet power supplies after conversion and upgrading
- Conducting electrical shutdowns on low and medium voltage systems
- Programming and commissioning of PLC systems
- Assembly, wiring, and testing of circuit boards
- Setup of measurement equipment for experiments
- Updating and maintaining system documentation
- Procurement and processing of spare parts
- Transportation, assembly, and dismantling of magnet power supplies
- On-call duty during beam times and experimental periods
- Working in radiation protection areas and high-voltage installations
- Collaboration with international partners in FAIR project construction
Voraussetzungen
- Completed technician training in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Energy Technology / Industrial Electronics or similar
- In-depth knowledge of analog and digital circuit technology and switchgear construction
- Familiarity with PLC programming
- Experience in power electronics and high-voltage technology
- Proficiency in German and good English language skills
- Team spirit and willingness to continuously develop
