Student Assistant (gn)
to join our library team! As a member of our team, you will support our daily library operations while interacting with our diverse community of students, faculty and staff. Whether you're helping a fellow student find a book, managing library materials, or assisting with cataloguing tasks, you'll be contributing to the functioning of a key unit at the Hertie School.
Your tasks:
- Information desk services including registering users, processing loans and interlibrary loans, and providing advice in person and via email.
- Help catalog and process library materials, working with WinIBW.
- Support patrons in navigating and searching the library's catalogues.
- Shelve books and retrieve materials as needed, keeping the library organized and accessible.
- Assist with projects
Your profile:
- You must be a full-time student at a German university
- You are preferably studying library science or a related field or have previous experience working in a library setting.
- Experience with library software and cataloging systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools will be beneficial.
- Good language skills in English speaking and writing are essential
- A strong ability to work reliably and precisely, ensuring the accuracy of your work.
