Einführung
The Software Engineering Practice Lead at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is responsible for overseeing and enhancing software development processes across all product lines, ensuring adherence to coding standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and implementing best practices within ICT. The role involves developing and maintaining coding standards, conducting compliance reviews, providing training and support to software developers, collaborating with IT leadership and product lines, managing resources, monitoring performance, evaluating new technologies, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Aufgaben
- Develop, implement, and maintain coding standards and software development methodologies
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards
- Organize and lead training sessions for software developers
- Act as a technical expert and provide guidance to developers
- Collaborate with IT leadership and Product Lines
- Create and manage software development resources
- Monitor the effectiveness of practices and report outcomes
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement
Voraussetzungen
- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Certification or experience in Agile delivery, SAFe certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in software engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in large scale IT projects
- Strong technical background in software development processes and technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java, .NET, Python, etc.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Knowledge of containerization technologies and cloud platforms
- Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, leadership, and mentorship skills
- Experience in an international and multicultural environment
- Fluency in English, French is a plus
