We are now looking for a Sales Engineer who can help us to continuously improve Volue’s ability to provide value to customers in line with the Volue mission.
The Sales Engineer (SE) brings passion for Volue’s technology to the clients. The SE understands how Volue creates value for the business – combining solid technology know-how with a strategic mind for business challenges. The Sales Engineer is a functional business consultant with a passion for technology and the advanced ability to develop, position, and demonstrate product-specific solutions during sales cycles. The SE is not owning accounts or opportunities but supporting the Account Executives, SDRs, Solutions Sales Experts in the technical part of the sales process as the technical solution expert from sales side.
The SE supports the technical win during the sales cycle and before closure. The SE needs to have a deep understanding of customer use cases and processes and maps those to Volue solutions by understanding the technical and functional details of Volue software solutions. The SE runs demos, prepares process and functional design overviews, explains the capabilities and values of the solutions, and specifies the architecture of the solution in the sales process. The SE plays an essential role in building trust with customers and contributing to sales processes such as Request for Proposals (RFPs). The SE serves as a vital connection between product team and the sales organisation.
The SE collaborates with the Account Executives, Client Directors, and Solution Sales Experts. Additionally, the SE involves colleagues from Product, Delivery and Managed Services into the sales cycles as required.
The expected results are set by the yearly action plans.
What you will be doing to make a difference:
- Gain and provide a detailed understanding and technical knowledge about Volue’s solutions and services
- Analyse and discover the value our solution will create for relevant stakeholders at the client in alignment with their business strategies and objectives
- Act as a trusted functional and technical advisor for our clients
- Prepare and provide answers to functional and technical questions
- Identify pain points and unique selling propositions in sales cycles
- Prepare, orchestrate, and conduct client workshops with the support of our internal product management to show the capabilities and potential of Volue for them
- Outline, plan and execute technical clarifications through work with various sales interactions, including responses to RFPs and bid management
- Design solution proposals and present them
- Report on customer’s needs, market developments, competitors’ activities, and potential for new solutions and services
What you need to succeed:
- A degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., computer science, programming, engineering)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the energy markets / power grid markets
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the B2B software industry as Sales Engineer, Solution Consultant, Presales or similar
- Knowledge and deep understanding of software technologies
- Interest and expertise in selling complex software products and services
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
- Other languages like Norwegian, German, Italian are depending on geographical responsibility
- International experience is a strong advantage
- Experience in selling SaaS (Software as a Service) is a plus
