Research/Student Assistant*in

The Center for Development Research (ZEF) at the University of Bonn is looking for committed and creative support for the press and public relations (PR) team as soon as possible.

ZEF is an international and interdisciplinary research and higher education institute at the University of Bonn that conducts research with, in and for countries of the Global South. Several professors, around 50 post-doctoral and more than 100 doctoral researchers are working at ZEF.

The small press and communications team at ZEF designs, coordinates and implements all PR measures of the institute - and needs reinforcement.

We are looking for a person who has an affinity for communications and PR-related activities and techniques. Ideally, you already have some practical work experience in the field of (visual) communication and social media. You are curious about new tasks and topics and enjoy developing your skills. You are able to work in a structured and independent manner, show initiative, are well organized, a team player and a good communicator.

Ideally you have, among other things:

• Practical experience with "office basics/everyday office life".
• Practical experience with visual communication projects, including video and image editing with the Adobe package or comparable programs (especially Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Canva etc.).
• Practical experience with maintenance and design of social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
• Experience with CMS (Typo3) and Wordpress.
• Skills in (digital) photography.
• Use of the usual PC software (MS Office incl. Outlook, Clouds).
• Good written and spoken English skills.

Other work-related conditions:

• Depending on your university degree/studies, you will be employed as a student assistant (SHK: Bachelor's degree) or research assistant (WHF: Bachelor's degree or WHK: Master's degree) under the usual conditions of the University of Bonn.
• The maximum working hours are 19 hours per week (to be agreed upon).
