Researcher for the Global Oil & Gas Exit List (GOGEL)
The environmental and human rights NGO Urgewald is looking for passionate individuals to
join our Global Oil & Gas Exit List (GOGEL) research team. GOGEL is the world’s most elaborate public informa Ɵon source on the oil & gas industry and includes various data points on the upstream, midstream and power subsectors. It is a highly sought a Ōer tool for banks, asset managers and insurance companies alike.

About Urgewald:
Urgewald is a German non-profit which has been shedding light on controversial industry projects for more than 30 years. Its in-depth reports and impac ƞul campaigns aim to prevent said projects by targe Ɵng the involved companies as well as the financiers behind them. Its data-driven approach eventually resulted in the crea Ɵon of two unique fossil fuel company data sets, one for thermal coal, the other for oil & gas. Today, more than 250 financial sins Ɵtu Ɵons from 24 countries work with GOGEL data systema Ɵcally to monitor oil & gas exposure, implement be Ʃer fossil fuel policies and to stop financial flows into new oil & gas projects. However, our data is not only used by financial ins Ɵtu Ɵons but also by journalists, academics and fellow NGOs. Currently , more than 70 people work for the organiza Ɵon, which is headquartere d in Sassenberg. Our Berlin office has grown con Ɵnuously a Ōer moving to a new loca Ɵon in Prenzlauer Berg in 2021. The GOGEL team consists of ten people with a diverse set of skills, from a variety of cultural and professional backgrounds and genera Ɵons.
Main responsibili Ɵes:
researching company-level oil & gas data.
This mainly includes GOGEL’s fossil fuel share of revenue as well as our power por ƞolio data.
researching project-level oil & gas data.
This includes gathering the underlying informa Ɵon for our oil & gas expans ion metrics on pipelines, LNG terminals and power sta Ɵons.
