The Leibniz Institut für Deutsche Sprache (Mannheim), Department of Digital Linguistics, Program Area Research Coordination and Research Infrastructures, is seeking to fill a full-time position for the project “DataGEMS - Data Discovery Platform with Generalized Exploratory, Management, and Search Capabilities ” subject to its final approval as of January 1, 2025 as a
Research Associate (m/f/d)
The position is limited until the end of the project (31.12.2027)..Depending on the personal requirements and the assigned tasks, the grouping takes place up to salary group 13 TV-L. The position can generally be divided or filled part-time. The place of work is IDS Mannheim.
Tasks:
- Development of a pilot scenario regarding the use of the DataGEMS platform for language data
Requirements:
In addition to a doctorate in computational linguistics, data science, or computer science, ideally in the field of Digital Humanities, the position requires in-depth qualifications in the following areas:
- In-depth experience in handling digital research data
- Very good knowledge of using XML and TEI standards
- Very good knowledge of German and English (written and spoken)
- Strong ability to work in a team
