Einführung
South Pole is seeking a Regional Manager for GIS & Remote Sensing to lead comprehensive Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing analyses in support of evaluating Nature-Based Solutions and biodiversity projects. The ideal candidate will work with GIS & RS specialists and collaborate with project owners and developers to manage carbon projects. This role requires technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to interact with senior management on digital innovation and strategy matters. The focus will be on land use planning, ecosystem services, terrain mapping, and forestry management in the African region, with potential extension to the Asia-Pacific region. The candidate will spearhead the execution and strategic oversight of GIS & RS projects, enhance Measurement, Reporting, and Verification processes, and mentor other specialists in the field. Responsibilities include quality assurance, technical analytics, project management, and developing GIS & RS Standard Operating Procedures.
Aufgaben
- Lead comprehensive Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing (GIS&RS) analyses
- Perform GIS & RS analyses on satellite data
- Develop and implement spatial solutions for GIS & RS components
- Provide expert support and recommendations for GIS&RS best practices
- Draft and revise GIS & RS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Participate in technical planning
Voraussetzungen
- Senior level experience in GIS and Remote Sensing
- Strong project management and roadmapping skills
- Ability to interact with senior management on digital innovation and strategy matters
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in land use planning, ecosystem services, terrain mapping, and forestry management
- Knowledge of Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) processes
