    The Role

    Join our rapidly growing CleanTech start-up, AIRMO, and contribute to addressing one of humanity's most pressing challenges: monitoring and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As a Mechanical Engineer Student Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to support the assembly, integration, and testing of our airplane sensors and satellite systems. Working closely with our experienced engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience in building systems that help monitor emissions and combat climate change. This role is perfect for a mechanical engineering student eager to apply their knowledge to real-world projects in a dynamic and innovative environment.

    Your responsibilities in AIRMO

    As a Mechanical Engineer Student Intern, your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

    • Supporting the assembly, integration, and testing of sensors for airplanes and satellite systems.
    • Assisting with the design and optimization of mechanical components to ensure efficient system performance.
    • Conducting functional and performance tests on prototypes and documenting results.
    • Collaborating with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and technical issues.
    • Contributing to the development of tools and fixtures for sensor assembly and calibration.
    • Assisting in maintaining detailed documentation of the assembly and testing processes.
    • Learning and applying best practices for building robust systems for aerospace and environmental applications.

    What you should bring to AIRMO

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering (or related) program.
    • A strong interest in Space and the role of technology in combating climate change.
    • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, prototyping, or testing (academic or practical).
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
    • A proactive and collaborative attitude, with excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions.
    • Enthusiasm to learn and contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

    Nice to have

    • Experience in selling to the oil and gas sector, with an established network and connections in the industry.
    • Strong understanding of data products and their applications, particularly in emissions monitoring or related fields.
    • Knowledge of regulations and compliance frameworks within the energy and environmental sectors.
