DIW Berlin is seeking a Head of the SOEP Innovation Sample to lead the Innovation Sample of the longitudinal Socioeconomic Panel Survey. The role involves managing the survey operations, coordinating data collection processes, supervising a team, and conducting research in survey methodology and panel data analysis. The position requires a doctoral degree in social sciences or related fields, expertise in survey methodological research, experience in survey implementation, and proficiency in English. The position is full-time and fixed-term until July 2027 with a possibility of transition to permanent employment.
Aufgaben
- Management and survey management of the innovation study of the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP-IS)
- Coordination and planning of data collection, preparation, and distribution process
- Supervision of a small team of non-scientific staff and student assistants
- Coordinating and guiding the application and selection process of external survey modules for the SOEP-IS study
- Conducting own research in survey research and analysis of panel data
Voraussetzungen
- Completed doctoral degree in social sciences, economics, psychology, or related field
- Expertise in survey methodological research and practice
- Experience in survey conception and implementation in various modes
- Knowledge of questionnaire pretest procedures and quantitative survey methods
- Experience with data from the SOEP or its Related Studies
- Proficiency in English
- Organizational and coordination skills
- Desirable German language skills at level B2
