Einführung
Join Vanilla Steel as a Data Engineer and support the Data Team in providing data insights to the broader organization in a fast-paced startup environment.
Aufgaben
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Define the vision and objectives for data products by working closely with product and data team members.
- Design & build ELT based data models using SQL & DBT.
- Work with Google Cloud to provision and manage data storage, compute resources, and containerized applications.
- Write code in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate data engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to ensure data quality and accessibility.
- Develop high-performing and insightful dashboards by providing necessary data infrastructure.
- Document data pipelines, schemas, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest data engineering and cloud technologies.
Voraussetzungen
- 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering field including building data pipelines
- Strong expertise in relational databases, including design and performance tuning
- Experience with Google Cloud for data storage, compute resources, and services
- Hands-on production experience with dbt
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Proficiency in Python; knowledge of JavaScript, Bash, and PowerShell is a plus
- Ability to process and analyze data effectively to drive insights and action
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards are maintained across all tasks
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related area
- Experience with Looker, Tableau or other dashboarding tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English
