About 180 Degrees Consulting

180 Degrees Consulting Berlin e.V. is the Berlin branch of the worldwide 180 Degrees Consulting network, the world’s largest consultancy for social organizations. We train students and young professionals in human-centered design methods blended with traditional consulting tools so they can help social organizations to accelerate their social impact and become future social impact leaders.

We are looking for a volunteer Consulting Director who recruits and leads our new consultant teams and ensures that they deliver high-quality consulting services. Throughout the semester, you would define the scope of the challenges we work on with our project partners, guide up to two consulting teams in their projects, foster relations between the consultants, the client, and the mentor, and identify members’ individual talents for ongoing personal development.

Responsibilities:

● Recruit and develop our consultant cohort and match them with interesting projects in the social entrepreneurship scene

● Leadership responsibility for your consulting teams, being able to guide and motivate them even in stressful situations

● Quality assurance of our deliverables in order to accelerate the social impact of our project partners

● Closely work with Program Directors to ensure that our talent development and educational offerings work hand in hand

● Recruitment of mentors to optimize our coaching offering to consultants

● Execute a strategic agenda, identify new opportunities and needs and communicate these needs to other members of the executive team in written and presentation form

● Identify and approach promising talents in the 180DC ecosystem and formulate value propositions in order to ensure the sustainability and growth of the branch

Qualifications and Profile

● Execution-focused mindset, having the ability to provide leadership even in stressful situations and push for high quality results and deliver on tight deadlines

● Experience in working with 180 Degrees Consulting and/or professional experience in consulting and project management are a plus

● Excellent communication skills and capacity to be empathic as well as a high degree of professionalism and the ability to represent the executive team to our consultants and project partners

● High interest in human resources topics and ability to identify talents and communicate value prepositions

● On average, commit 10 hours per week to the task

● Preferably able to commit one year to the position in order to have a long-lasting impact on the future of the organization
