The international accelerator centre FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research), one of the largest research projects in the world, is currently being built in Darmstadt. FAIR is being built at the existing research centre GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. With FAIR, matter will be produced and researched in the laboratory as it otherwise only occurs in the universe in order to gain new insights into the development of the universe and the structure of matter. The FAIR Site & Buildings (FSB) staff department is looking for a
Civil Engineer / Architect (FH/TU) (all genders)
Your tasks:
- Coordination, review, implementation, and assurance of object planning for individual performance phases of the FAIR construction project using database systems
- Support and coordination of external planning firms and construction stakeholders
- Co-management from building performance phases 2 to 9
- Review of invoices and additional services, cost control
- Coordination and collaboration on resource-based framework schedules and specific subproject schedules, including detailed time, cost, or capacity plans
- Preparation, coordination, and documentation of usage recordings according to HBO completions (Hessian Building Code)
- Shared responsibility for construction management in accordance with the state building regulations (LBO) in specific areas
- Regular site inspections during construction and operation.
- Checking the execution for compliance with contractors' contracts
- Checking the execution for compliance with generally accepted engineering standards (A.a.R.d.T.)
- Assisting in defect tracking
- Acceptance inspections upon completion
Your profile:
- University degree in architecture, civil engineering, energy and heat engineering, or process engineering
- Experience in project execution up to acceptance after commissioning
- Very good knowledge of CAD systems (preferably AutoCAD or similar)
- Negotiation-level German proficiency indispensable (at least C1 level)
- Good knowledge of HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers) and German building regulations (state building codes)
- Strategically oriented, structured, and goal-oriented working style
- Good MS Office skills
- High degree of organizational ability and willingness to communicate
- Good English language skills, both written and spoken
- Team player
Salary is equivalent to that for public employees as specified in the collective agreement for public employees (TVöD Bund). The position is unlimited.
