Einführung
GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel is seeking a Chemical-technical assistant to join their Research Unit Marine Natural Products Chemistry. The assistant will be responsible for a wide range of analytical chemistry and marine natural products chemistry/biotechnology tasks, contributing to the preservation of the ocean for future generations. The position is initially available for 2 years.
Aufgaben
- Generation of crude extracts from various marine (micro)biological material
- Chemical analysis using hyphenated mass spectrometry techniques
- Purification of marine natural products by chromatographic methods
- Sample and compound preparation for chemical analyses
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of chemical and analytical equipment
- Planning, implementation, and documentation of experiments
- Training and technical support of academic staff, students, and project partners
- General lab organization and tasks
- Support for process development
- Ordering chemicals and consumables
Voraussetzungen
- Chemical-technical assistant or related professional education
- Proficient in analytical chemistry, especially hyphenated mass spectrometry techniques
- Experience in chromatographic separations (HPLC and others)
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
- Desirable qualifications: experience in multidisciplinary research, ship-going expeditions, car driving license, scientific diving license
